¡Ay caray! Do I remember the harsh, cold Mexico City winter of 2014! I was nearly one years old and I was going through the “teenage” seasonal changing of fur. My parents, frusturated with my changes and having to clean my sheets so often (I shed!) they decided to take me to the warm beaches of Acapulco!

Researching hotels that accepted furry children such as myself was tough – there’s not much info on the net. They decided on Grupo Habita’s Boca Chica hotel. They knew that this Mexican boutique hotel chain was super-duper pet friendly and of course they wanted my first vacation to be super special.

After the 5 hour drive to Acapulco from Mexico City, we arrived! The hotel was once in an Elvis movie and it still has a groovy, 60’s vibe to it so I snapped in rico suave mode, unbuttoned my shirt and let my chest fluff fly-ay-ay.  The bell boy took my luggage while I proceeded to check-in where I learned that I was allowed everywhere in the hotel – not just the room! This was really exciting, because at other hotels (such as Princess) I heard they strictly restrict four-legged tourists to the room and beach only. Here at Boca Chica, I could visit the Asian-fusion restaurant (ginger flavored water for me!), sit poolside and get my tan on, and play in the gardens. My favorite part though was the free kayaks to paddle to La Roqueta, it was my first time on a kayak!

Needless to say, I worked on my corg-tan almost daily. The super extra dose of Vitamin D from the sun put my shedding in control and even I met my very first lady friend (okay, totally embarrassing, but I totally was trying to hide my baby shedding here).

Overall, it was a great trip! Mom and Dad loved it for me sooo much that we returned for my 2nd birthday. This time, it was Spring Break, bitches! I had put on some weight (ahem, all muscle of course) and was single and ready to mingle! I mostly drank coronas poolside with the boys, until Mom came down and caught me and grounded me! At the end, it was okay, I got to take a nap in the fluffy cotton beds, jokes on her!!!

I give Boca Chica a 9/10 rating on my Mexico pet friendly hotel scale since I was allowed every place in the hotel!
